Rewarded Points for the Following:
Grade Point Average – you will receive as many points as your grade point average
i.e. Grade Point Average 3.2 = 3.2 points
200-word essay – Topic will be given when you receive an application. A minimum of three of our board members will read and assign a point value of 1 – 10 pts. Essay could be worth 30 pts. total
Hispanic Heritage = 10 pts. – one parent or legal guardian must be of Hispanic decent.
Related to HPOA member = 10 pts.
Related to a retired or active Law Enforcement Officer = 5 pts.
Seeking a Degree in Law Enforcement = 20 pts.
Seeking a Degree in Public Safety Areas = 10 pts.

The HPOA Scholarship program will be awarded to one high school senior every fiscal year until the organization deems a change. The candidates must apply using our application and meet the following minimum criteria. The candidate must be a high school senior, and must be accepted in to college in the year of application he or she must also submit a 200 word essay on the subject of the year. All applications and essays must be submitted by July 31th of that fiscal year. All awards will be awarded by August 15th of the application year. The award will be made to the winning student so he or she may use it towards their college and personal expenses.
